Oh my gosh, this tree was amazing! I’m in love with tree roots anyway…  but a huge hemlock, on an awesome mossy boulder? SO perfect!

“This is my first-year-of-University bedroom in Guildford, England. I’ve wanted to submit to this blog for a while, and now that I’m days away from moving out (and a few months away from no longer being a teenager) I figured now was a good time. I’m 19, and originally from Devon, about a 3 1/2 hour car journey from my University. I wanted to make this room as much like my room at home as possible, so I filled it with photos of friends, trinkets, bunting and the dreamcatcher I used to have hanging above my bed at home. Whilst I don’t particularly like living in halls (14 people in a flat?! No thanks) I’m going to miss my room loads, its the place where I cried with homesickness, had tea parties with new friends, and learnt how to procrastinate like a true student, but I can’t wait to fill my room for second year with stuff!”—Glitterisgood

“Hi! I was going through my stacks and boxes of papers and came across these photos of my bedroom from when I was in high school. I’m 27 now and sadly mostly wear earth tones, so it was a welcome flash from the past to see all this color.
How old were you? 16-18 years
Where do you live? This bedroom was in Randolph, NJ. I now live in San Francisco.
What were you into? If I remember correctly, the room mural started with a bucket of sidewalk chalk, the bedroom door, and a lot of feelings about my first boyfriend that needed to be worked out. I was into color, throwing and sculpting paint, spackle, and ink directly onto the wall, and inviting friends over to add their own doodles to my wall masterpiece.
What made your room so awesome? No one in my family ever said a word about it, except to, once only, ask if I was okay :)”—Submission from Katherine

Thank you! I LOVE this story!!xx

“I’m 15 from Texas and this in my room, you can’t see my bed but its a loft bed, I never really sleep on top, I’m mostly on the bottom where I have a ton of blankets I lay on, when I found that shelf that’s under the Amy Winehouse poster at an antique store it was brown and didn’t have shelves so I had to find shelves for all four tiers and I painted it green. My walls are grey because I feel that’s the easiest thing to work with other then white. I only have the Toms flag on my wall because that’s where I pin all my buttons to. Next to my tv I have my bamboo plant and ruby cactus and under the VHS player I have all my VHS tapes, I am very proud of my collection. You can’t really tell in this lighting buy my window is covered in green spiderwebs.”—Porcelain-Puke

“My bedroom from age 9-17, in California. I loved the big windows I could watch the sun set through, the table for making art, and the rusty old pirate trunk at the foot of my bed.”—C0llection

“Welcome to my happy place. I’m 17 from Melbourne, Australia and this is my room right now. My room represents everything that I am. I sleep under an infinity sign made out of photos that make up my life, and everyday I wake up to the Bon Iver lyrics ‘i told you to be patient, fine, balanced, kind’ across from me on the opposite wall. If you could see the other side of my wall you would also see a wall covered in pages from a book and a One Tree Hill quote covering it. Bob Marley is also the man!”—wakingupwithregrets

“I’m 17, from Spain, but living in Geneva ( Switzerland). I wanted to upload this one because I really like my window, I’m into nature, indie movies, alternative music, and art, it’s a room with a wonderful karma. I will submit a picture of my full room soon.”—Swansilhouette

“Hi! I’m french, you can call me Mimi, this was not really a bedroom, it was also a part of my living room in my tiny flat, but I was still a teenager. I’m 24 now, and I feel kind of nostalgic of this place, the parties we’ve made there, the people with I used to chill out there, listening to music, and smoking some weed. I hadn’t a computer or even a dvd player, just a cd player, an old VCR and a really tiny tv which were in my parent’s house, and a N64 (and an illuminated stars globe). It was often messy but it smells good. Even if now, I live in a more decent place, with all the comforts people “need”, I miss this place. I miss its authenticity.”—Email submission from Mimi
